RELEASE & ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I am aware that, during this trip in which I have chosen to participate under the arrangements of Splash Travel , their agents, employees and associates, certain hazards may occur, including but not limited to the hazards of travelling in mountainous terrain, in isolated regions, often many days from medical facilities, subject to the forces of nature, and travel by air, vehicle or other conveyance. In consideration of the right to participate in such trips or other activities and receive the services and food arranged for me by Splash Travel, their employees, agents and associates, by way of payment for the trip I do hereby assume all of the above risks and will hold the organiser/s free from any and all liability, actions, causes of action, debts, claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever which I now have or which may arise as a result of or in connection with my trip or participation in any activities arranged for me by Splash Travel, days, their employees, agents and associates. The terms hereof shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns and for all members of my family including any minors accompanying me. I have read and accept the General Booking Conditions. I hereby authorise Splash, their employees, agents or associates to act and make decisions on my behalf in the case of medical emergency and accept and understand that all costs related to my recovery, treatment or repatriation will be my responsibility alone and furthermore agree to hold them free from any and all liability relating to such decisions being made on my behalf.

GENERAL BOOKING CONDITIONS RESPONSIBILITY: Splash Travel, herein after referred to as ST, and operators of the tour on which you are booked, act only as agents for the airlines, transportation companies, hotel owners or contractors and other principals, and all tickets, vouchers and documents are issued subject to the conditions under which such transportation, accommodation and other contractors operate. By the acceptance of any documentation, the purchaser and/or tour member agrees that neither ST, its employees or associated companies/agents shall be or become responsible for any injury, damage, accident, loss, delay or irregularity that may be caused to a person or property or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or any other service included in your tour. This will also apply for any reason resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers incidental to the sea or terrain, machinery breakdown, hostilities, riots, strikes, civil commotion, thefts, sickness, quarantine, immigration, medical or customs regulations, improper or insufficient passports or other documentation or cancellations in itinerary or schedules or from any cause beyond the control of Splash Travel, its employees or associated companies/agents. ST, its employees or associates shall not be or become liable for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by a tour member as a result of any of the foregoing. ST, its employees or associated companies/agents reserve the right to alter or modify itineraries, accommodation and transport in anyway necessary in the interest of tour members or due to circumstances beyond their control. St, its employees or associated companies/agents do not accept any liability for failure on the part of transportation companies whose responsibility is confined to their own operations. ST, reserves the right to cancel or withdraw at any time, bookings made by or for the client, in which event no liability whatsoever shall be attributed to ST, its employees or associated companies/agents and furthermore while taking every care with passengers property, shall not be liable for any loss, damage, inconvenience in the handling thereof. The transportation firm or companies shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness, or injury however or by whosoever caused and of whatever kind occurring of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger is not on board a carrier or conveyance used and operated by the transport companies and firms. The passage contract in use by the transportation companies shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies and firms and the purchaser of a tour and/or passengers.
BOOKINGS & DEPOSITS: A deposit of $500 is required to confirm your reservation. Full and final payment will need to be paid on or before 31 August 2007. If a booking is made after this date, full payment is due immediately. If we book special domestic fares for you to travel to the trip joining points of Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns – payment for domestic fares is required in addition to the deposit. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS/VISA: A passport, valid for at least 6 months at time of travel, is required for all visitors. Application form for a Papua New Guinea visa will be sent with your trip confirmation. You may apply for a visa prior to departure from Australia via the PNG Consul in Brisbane or Embassy in Canberra. Alternatively, Australian passport holders can currently obtain a visa on arrival in Port Moresby, the cost for this is PGK (Papua New Guinea Kina) 100.00 per person.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: There are no mandatory vaccinations however a course of anti-malarial tablets is recommended and available by prescription, Please see your doctor. Your tetanus booster should be current. Please consult your doctor for further medical advice. BAGGAGE: Allowance is limited to 20 kilos (44lb) per person plus a daypack or flight bag. While every care is taken with baggage, no responsibility can be accepted for any loss, damage or delay. Baggage insurance is recommended. TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel insurance is a compulsory requirement for this trip. You may use the policy and insurer we have suggested or seek an alternative insurer. If you choose an alternative insurer we will require documented proof that you do have comprehensive travel insurance. Please see the information we have enclosed. Should you decide not to take out travel insurance or not be covered for travel by an insurance Company we reserve the right to decline your booking on the tour. ITINERARY: A detailed itinerary or trip brief will be provided with final documents. TRIP PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: Excess baggage charges, cost of passports, visa fees, laundry charges, meals not specified as being included, drinks, insurance premiums, telephone charges or any other personal expenses incurred by the trip participant, including cost of evacuation if not covered by travel insurance. Trip costs include all planning and operational costs and the cost quoted represents a complete package price. AMENDMENTS: You may extend your trip provided you comply with the rules of the airfare type used. Any change to international flights must be made prior to tickets being issued. Amendment after confirmation will incur a fee of $50 per person. Postponement of a trip is treated as a cancellation and not an amendment. CANCELLATIONS: Deposits are non-refundable. For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to departure, cancellation fee will be 55% of the trip price, plus $165 per person, plus any additional charges made by operators. For cancellation within 14 days of trip departure, cancellation fee is 100%. You are urged to have insurance cover as protection in case of inability to travel due to illness. REFUNDS: Generally, no refund will be made when a passenger changes itinerary or elects to leave the trip. Any request for a refund must be received in writing within 30 days after trip completion. AIR TRAVEL: Splash Travel will automatically book flights between the nominated departure point and within PNG. Domestic Australian flights will be booked when requested, generally these have to be paid for immediately and do carry cancellation or amendment fees. International flights are provided by Air Niugini who operates a 767service between Sydney/Brisbane – Port Moresby and regular F100 jet services between Cairns and Port Moresby. Air Niugini provides code-share services for Qantas passengers between Australia and Papua New Guinea. The airfares used do not attract frequent flyer points. ALTERATIONS: Prices and schedules are subject to change. All rates are based on tariffs, airfares and exchange rates as at 31 March 2008 and are subject to adjustment. The right is reserved to substitute aircraft, date of departure, accommodation or routing of any land or air component of these trips. ACCEPTANCE ON THE TRIP: The right is reserved to accept, to decline or retain at any time any person as a trip participant. We reserve the right to ask trip participants to provide us with a medical certificate. We reserve the right to insist trip participants trek with a personal porter if we consider they are risking their health or compromising the trip operation. FURTHER QUESTIONS ?
